Coming up

PJG classic conducting shot

I am excited to be returning to one of Spain’s top orchestras, the Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia with one of my Bach development programs. I will mix a suite of Bach sinfonias with the music of Stravinsky Dunbarton Oaks and John Corigliano’s Fancy on a Bach Air. We will then perform Bach inspired pieces by Anton Weber, Holst, Vaughan Williams and the Villa-Lobos Bachianas Brasileiras no.2 with it’s crazy saxaphone part!

After spending the summer in Carmel as Artistic Director of nearly 5o concerts, conducting up to 5 concerts a week, I will cool off a little by spending two months in Copenhagen conducting a production of Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti.

Later on I will visit the New World Symphony Orchestra in Miami. This is the top US orchestra of post conservatoire students, performing in the inspiring Frank Ghery concert hall with performances also beamed live onto the outside of the building in the the adjacent piazza.

Finally I am looking forward to working again with the wonderful Capella Aquileia in Heidenheim, an orchestra after my own heart, as they both specialise on modern and period instruments and then to my friends in the Israel Camerata.
