January was a voyage of discovery, going to Israel for the first time, working with the Israel Camerata in a wonderful program of english 20th century music paired with Haydn and Mozart. Rob Murray was the lyrical tenor in Finzi’s spiritual masterpiece, Dies Natalis. This was complemented by Mozart's Symphony 33, while Tippett’s complex and filigree Corelli Fantasia worked well with Haydn’s Symphony 59, the “Feuersymphonie”. ( You can catch movements from the Finzi and Haydn on my Media page ).
In February I fly to Hannover and the Radiophilharmonie Norddeutscher Rundfunk Orchestra (NDR). I love working with the many excellent German radio orchestras as they are always so flexible and responsive to my different programs and demands. This time I am bringing a baroque program of Telemann ( Water Music ) , Purcell Fairy Queen Suite, Corelli Concerto Grosso op.6 and Handel Concerto Grosso op.3 along with opera arias sung by the soprano Valentina Farcas.
